The Peer Tutoring Program

Bring a Peer Tutoring Program to Your School

A free implementation toolkit designed to help schools launch structured student-led tutoring programs that support struggling students while developing leadership opportunities for tutors.

What is the peer tutoring program?

A student-led peer tutoring program designed for schools. Improve academic success, build leadership, and launch a chapter with ready-to-use resources. The Peer Tutoring Program provides schools with a complete toolkit to launch and manage a student-led tutoring system. By pairing students who need help with trained peer tutors, schools can create a collaborative academic environment that strengthens learning and builds leadership skills.

The toolkit includes step-by-step resources that make it easy for schools to organize tutors, manage sessions, and track program impact.

Why peer tutoring works

Academic Support

Students often learn best from peers who have recently mastered the same material. Peer tutoring provides personalized support that helps students better understand difficult concepts.

Leadership Development

Tutors develop valuable skills such as communication, mentoring, and problem-solving while gaining meaningful leadership experience.

Stronger School Community

Peer tutoring encourages collaboration between students and helps create a supportive academic culture within schools.

What schools receive

Schools that implement the program receive a complete toolkit including:

• A step-by-step program implementation guide
• Tutor recruitment and application templates
• Parent consent and liability forms
• Tutor training materials
• Administrative templates for counselors and teachers
• Program tracking spreadsheets to measure impact

All materials are designed so schools can easily adapt them to fit their own schedules, resources, and student needs.

About the program

The Peer Tutoring Program was created by Alexandra Syanova after launching a successful peer tutoring initiative at her own high school. After seeing the positive impact it had on students, she developed an implementation toolkit so that schools across the country could easily create similar programs.

The goal of the program is to make academic support more accessible while empowering students to become leaders within their school communities.
