Hear from students, tutors, and schools who have experienced the impact of peer tutoring firsthand.
Introduction
At The Peer Tutoring Program, our mission is to make academic support more accessible, collaborative, and student-driven. Our program is completely free and takes place during the school day, making it easy for students to get help without adding extra stress to their schedules.
By learning from peers rather than in a traditional classroom setting, students often feel more comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and truly understanding the material.
What Our Community Is Saying

“I love this program because it helps so many students in any grade. I feel that it is more beneficial to some students because most kids in high school find it easier to talk to kids their age. The Peer Tutoring Program has helped me grow as a person and expand my knowledge while helping others. I have learned a lot about leadership and courage through this program.”

“As both a school counselor at Prairie Ridge High School and the faculty sponsor for the Peer Tutoring Program, I have seen firsthand the positive impact this program has had on everyone involved. It has become a valuable addition to our school’s student support system and has helped dozens of students improve their understanding and overall academic performance. The Peer Tutoring Program not only supports students academically, but also fosters collaboration, confidence, and leadership among participants. It is an initiative that truly benefits our school community.”

“Prairie Ridge’s Peer Tutoring Program has helped me a lot this year as a freshman. Whenever I’ve been confused on homework or didn’t fully understand something from class, I’ve been able to get help right away. The tutors are always patient and explain things in a way that actually makes sense, which has made a big difference for me. One of the best parts is that it’s completely free and available whenever you need it. It’s a lot less stressful knowing there’s always somewhere I can go if I’m struggling. Instead of falling behind, I can get help and actually understand the material. Overall, Peer Tutoring has made school easier for me and helped me feel more confident in my classes. I think it’s a great program that more students should take advantage of.”

The Impact
Because the program is free and built into the school day, more students are able to access support when they need it most. Peer tutoring creates a low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable learning from one another, rather than feeling intimidated or judged.
This approach not only improves academic performance, but also builds confidence, communication skills, and a stronger sense of community within schools.
